Adrian ran AEA Consulting from 1990 to 2007 and was appointed Executive Director of Jazz at Lincoln Center in 1997 (www.jalc.org).
AEA, which he ran for 17 years, was established in 1990 to offer strategic advice on the management of cultural organizations and on cultural policy. The company has offices in New York and London and a detailed account of the company, its philosophy and activities can be found at www.aeaconsulting.com
Between 1986 and 1990, Adrian was Development Director and subsequently Executive Director of the Conran Foundation, an educational charity based in London.
He is on the board of the Kaufman Center in New York and was a member of the Governing Council of the National Museums and Galleries of Wales (1996 – 2000) and a member of the Royal Institute of British Architects' Architecture Centre Committee (1997 – 2001). He is on the board of Pathé Pictures, a film production company, and a member of the Getty Leadership Institute’s advisory board.
He writes and lectures extensively on management and planning issues in the cultural sector and was a visiting scholar at Columbia University in 2010. He was educated at University College Oxford and the London School of Economics and has lived in New York since 1998.
