Ana Carla Fonseca Reis is a Public Manager from the Fundação Getúlio Vargas of São Paulo and an Economist who graduated from the University of São Paulo, where she also received a four-year Master Degree in Management & Marketing and is currently taking her PhD in Architecture and Urbanism, developing a thesis on creative cities.
She received an MBA degree from Fundação Dom Cabral and worked for fifteen years as senior executive in marketing and communications in multinational companies such as Unilever, leading regional and global projects, based in Latin America, London and Milan.
An international speaker on cultural marketing, economics of culture, creative economy, business opportunities in the cultural field and culture & development, she is the co-author of "Teorias de Gestão – de Taylor a nossos dias" (Thomson, 1997 – Management Theories, from Taylor to our days) and the author of the celebrated "Marketing Cultural e Financiamento da Cultura" (Thomson, 2003 – Cultural Sponsorship and Cultural Funding) and "Economia da Cultura e Desenvolvimento Sustentável - o Caleidoscópio da cultura" (Manole, 2006 - Economics of Culture and Sustainable Development - the Kaleidoscope of culture), the first book on the subject in Brazil, which was granted the "Prêmio Jabuti" in 2007 (the most important literary award in Brazil).
Ana Carla is a founding partner of the consultancy company "Garimpo de Soluções - economics, culture and development", UN Special Advisor on Creative Economy (UNCTAD, SSC-SU), volunteer Director of Economics of Culture of Instituto Pensarte, monthly collaborator to the digital newsletter "Cultura e Mercado", researcher, professor and coordinator of a number of university courses on culture and management and curator of the Creative Clusters Conference in the United Kingdom and the Creative Cities Summit 2.0, in Detroit.
