Born 1945 in Baveria, he has been living in both Berlin, Germany and in Athens, Greece and this since 1988.
He lived in Ottawa, Canada from 1957 until 1969, then in London while stuying at London School of Economics (1969-70) and then returned to Germany in 1971.
He worked first in Munich at the Max Planck Institute for Psychoanalysis, and then went to Heidelberg to study Classical Philosophy (1972 until 1975).
After working for a European journal to cover social research topics in France, Italy, UK and Germany, he took up teaching 'Dialectic of Securalization' at the Institute for Science of Religion of the Free University of Berlin. In 1985 he had completed his Ph.D. in Political Philosophy. The dissertation was published in 1987.
During his work in Athens, Greece, he has been teaching Humanities, Art History and Philosophy while organizing exhibitions, artistic workshops and conferences.
A major one has been the Fifth Seminar, 'Cultural Actions for Europe' on behalf of the Flemish Government in Athens 1994.
Doing various European projects, including the Article 10 ERDF CIED (Cultural Innovation and Economic Development) project and the HERMES project in conjunction with the City of Volos, he organized the EU CIED conference in Leipzig, Germany during the EU German Presidency in June 1999.
After that he went to Brussels to work as cultural advisor for the Greens in the European Parliament, and there specifically to the Committee on Culture, Media, Education, Youth and Sports. He also did a study for the Greens on the Potential of the Internet Radio to further the European Debate. (1999 – 2002).
His work entails a definition of sustainability of culture as the ability to deal with complexity, artists and demands for a progressive cultural policy.
He has acted as advisor for politicians like MEP Alecos Alavanos and cultural figures like Spyros Mercouris, Honorary president of the ECCM Network, but also for ECoC candidate cities like Sonderborg 2017 and Wroclaw 2016.
