Joyce Zemans is the Director of the MBA Program in Arts and Media Administration in the Schulich School of Business at York University in Toronto. Professor Zemans is a former Director of the Canada Council for the Arts and former Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts at York University.

 

She has published extensively on Canadian and cultural policy and on comparative cultural policy. She is a member of the National Advisory Committee of the Centre of Expertise on Culture and Communities (Canada), of the Toronto Arts Council Advisory Committee, the Cultural Advisory Committee of the Canadian Commission for UNESCO and of the advisory board of the Asia Pacific Journal of Arts and Cultural Management.

 

She is the co-editor of Comparing Cultural Policy: A Study of Japan and the United States, Sage, Walnut Creek, 1999 and Where is Here: Canadian Culture in a Globalized World, Robarts Centre, Toronto, 1996.
